Working Towards
Good

The Alpha Plus group has wholeheartedly believed in doing their bit for the cause of ‘education’ and ‘children’ and formally launched our CSR initiative, ‘ASHHAAlpha Plus Spreading Hope & Happiness Always’ in 2015. We wanted to harness the power of multiple beautiful minds working at our company, clubbed with the energy and enthusiasm of our young workforce along with the genuine desire of the founding family, to support and do our bit to promote education and share happiness amongst the lesser privileged children. The collective effort of all the APPLES, via an annual / biannual CSR has enabled us to contribute to the cause to the best of our abilities and have a positive impact in lives of others.

The logo of ‘ASHHA’ represents the cause of our CSR initiative – ‘children’ & ‘education’ and the motto – ‘to spread hope and happiness…’

The primary element is the Blackboard – one of the first words that come to our minds when we think of ‘children’ and ‘education’. The sketches and colors give a nostalgic and happy feeling of one’s childhood. Each letter of the word ‘ASHHA’ has been chalked on the blackboard using the most commonly used colored chalks – white, blue, pink, etc.

The ‘illumination’ on the letters ASHHA signifies ‘light’ indicating that brand ASHHA, through its desire of supporting the cause of ‘education for children’, aims to bring ‘knowledge’ and ‘light’ into the lives of the lesser privileged children.

The birds coming out of the last “A” signifies freedom and happiness.

Life beyond school

The day when we became mentors and buddies to a group of 32 students, aged 13 – 15 years, who joined us for a day at our corporate office.

The time-table for the day included insights into the world and various functions at Alpha Plus Technologies; followed by a session on the career options available to them alongside the education qualification that would be required after Standard X to pursue their chosen career and ambition.

This was followed by a personalized skill-based learning session for each child under the ‘Share-a-chair’ initiative; moving on to a fun and knowledgeable quiz which was a part of the ‘Spin-the-wheel’ / ‘Paheliyon ka Pahiya’ activity. As the last activity for the day we chose to cover the topic of cleanliness and general hygiene by showing documentaries, over some pop-corn!

Given that these children would be on the verge of taking a decision about their higher education, we wanted to ensure that the interaction has a positive influence on them and we are able to ignite the desire in them to continue their education and have the opportunity to work in corporate firms in the future.

Christmas with the wish-kids

There is no better form of happiness than being Santa to a little life! As a part of our Silver Jubilee Celebration, we collaborated with ‘Make-A-Wish’ Foundation to make an attempt to fulfill special wishes of kids undergoing medical treatment at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital.

“We went there to see smiles, but came back with newfangled emotions and a sense of fulfillment that most of us would have rarely experienced before this…”

Keeping the spirit of Christmas in mind, a series of events were organized for the children, starting with a welcome dance by the APPLES, followed by activities like ‘Putting up the Christmas Tree’ and ‘Musical Chair’ for the children and their parents. The best part was when the kids took the center-stage to sing and dance amidst cheers and smiles from their parents and Alpha Plus employees.

It was heart-warming to see the big smiles when our in-house Mr. Claus presented the gifts to all the kids…

A day of learning in association with Akanksha Foundation

Alpha Plus Technologies partnered with Akanksha Foundation & visited the Janabai & Madhavrao Rokde Municipal School in Mumbai. A day dedicated towards building social and soft skills for students.

25 volunteers participated from Alpha Plus Technologies covering activity areas like Drama, Clay Modelling, Drawing, Cooking, Best-out-of-waste, to name a few. An extremely memorable and fun-filled experience for us to assist them with making paper butterflies, be their sous-chef while they prepare their own version of Bombay-Chaat, watch them display their creativity in clay modelling and so much more…

As a parting gift, we extended stationery to the students for them to use at school and left with bags full of smiles and satisfaction!
